Membership Eligibility

Who may join?

Full Members

You are eligible to join The Association of Public Sector Superannuants as a full member if:

1. you are receiving, or are eligible to receive, a superannuation pension paid from the South Australian Superannuation Fund;

or

2. you are a member, or former member, of the South Australian Lump Sum Scheme;

or

3. you are a member, or former member, of the Southern State Superannuation (SSS) scheme;

or

4. you are receiving, or are eligible to receive, a superannuation pension paid from the South Australian Police Superannuation Scheme.

or

5. You are receiving or eligible to receive a pension or annuity from a Commonwealth Government Superannuation fund.

For all these situations you do not have to wait until you retire, as we encourage membership for both retired people and those still at work

Partner Members

You are eligible to join The Association of Public Sector Superannuants as a Partner Member if:

1. you are a spouse of a full member;

or

2. you have a relationship with a full member which allows you to receive 2/3 of the member’s pension on death of the full member.

Both annual and life Partner Members have full membership rights.

Life memberships are transferred to the Partner member when the Life member dies.

However Partner Members do not receive their own copy of “The Superannuant”, as it is assumed they have access to their partner’s copy.

We value all our members equally, and the Association benefits from their participation. Membership numbers are important when arguing to maintain and improve retirement incomes.
